The Testing Process
After WPT has received a sample of your product, product information forms and
the test fee, your product will be submitted to The Retailer. To date less then 2% of the products submitted to a retailer by WPT have been rejected for a
test. However, in the event that this should happen, WPT will immediately refund 100% of your testing fee.
Next, The Retailer will issue a purchase order to WPT for your product, and in
turn, WPT will order from you. (Note: WPT does not mark up the product to The
Retailer). You will ship your products prepaid to WPT's warehouse and we will
then distribute them to the test stores. A picture of your products' setup for
each of the test stores will be sent to you. At the end of the test period, WPT will issue a report of the weekly sales results to you and to your retail buyer.
Products sold during the test will be paid for by WPT 120 days from the date of shipment to the Retailer. Any products that are remaining in the stores after the
test period has ended, or that have been returned, will be sent back to you. WPT will issue your company a check for the invoice amount, minus returns and all shipping expenses including shipping to test stores and return freight.
At the conclusion of the test, you either negotiate with The Retailer directly, or through your normal manufacturer's rep or distributor. WPT is not involved in this part of the sales process and charges no further fees. At your request only, we will provide you with the names of qualified consultants, rep groups, or distributors.
Post Test
At your program's conclusion, WPT will send a sell-through report to you and to your Retailer's buyer. The detailed report will contain sales information for each store in each week of the test and the average sell through rate for the test period. Your report package will also include pictures of the product setups in the test site.
